June 2008

This is an Alert to inform you of Postcard Companies in your area claiming to make offers to buy your timeshare.

After a 90-minute Sales Presentation....

1. They DO Not Buy timeshares.  They ask you to pay $2000 to $4000
to transfer your timeshare to an event planning company.  You DO NOT
receive any $$$$ for your unit.

2. They Misinform the public regarding the value of their timeshare and
try to scare the elderly regarding inheritance and leaving the property
    to heirs.

3. They proclaim you can take a TAX write-off.  They are giving misleading
tax advice as your timeshare in most cases was held for personal use
and the tax code provides No Tax Deduction for personal use property.
(Please get advice from a Certified Public Accountant immediately.)

WARNING!  Some Post Card Companies may be in violation of :

  • Practicing Real Estate without a License
  • False Advertising
  • Misrepresentations
  • Lack of Full Disclosures
